Crazy Crayons

June 30, 2006

With summer vacation upon us, it can be a challenge to come up with fun things for the children to do at home. Fun things keep them occupied and keep me from going completely insane.

I found a cool little project over at Martha Stewart’s site tonight. Basically you take some crayons and chop them up. You put them in a mini-cake pan, preferably one with small cute shapes, bake and voilá! Crazy Crayons.

  1. I love this idea, Stinni! My boys are unfortunately past the age to enjoy such a thing, but I will be making up a batch of these for my niece and I’ll blog it when I do. 🙂
I’m just trying to think of where to get some tins with interesting shapes…

  2. Hi Angela – We made them this morning and I used a regular muffin pan. They take a little longer to melt and turn out a little bigger but it worked. Be warned – cutting up a bunch of crayons? Messy and sort of tedious but it was fun and my son enjoyed it so it was all good.
