Boti Kebabs

2 lbs. lean sirloin steak, cut into 1-1/2″ pieces

Boiling water, enough to cover the steak

Place steak in boiling water and let sit for 5 minutes. Drain.

1/2 cup yogurt

1/4 cup instant minced onion

1 T water

2 t salt

2 t poppy seeds

1 t ground ginger

4 t ground coriander

2 t turmeric

1/2 t ground cumin seeds

1/4 t ground red pepper

Mix all above ingredients together and coat meat. Refrigerate for 4-5 hours or overnight. Skewer with:

16 green pepper squares

16 onion slices

16 mushroom caps

Broil or place on BBQ until done.

If meat looks dry, baste with 1/4 cup salad oil.
